Season 41, Week 2
Demi
(Phantasy Star 4)

Thirty-five seasons ago, the little android that could tore through Middle, securing Phantasy Star IV's status as one of the most hallowed casts in the Duelling League and even nabbing an upgrade to Heavy in the process. She's been less than successful in her new division despite many attempts, but hey, you don't live for three centuries by being a quitter, now do you? Demi has a few notable advantages over her opponent, the gladiator Bellllcoooooot (note: we are contractually obligated to refer to Belcoot in this manner once per match). Her enemy is a no-frills swordfighter, and Demi's metallic body happens to be great at soaking up hits. Plus, her nearly endless supply of healing means she can easily weather Belcoot's attacks while quickly wearing him down with the sonic assault of Phonomezer. The little android that could will soar again!

The Kanakan swordsman has been patiently waiting for his chance to tear up this arena just like he did the one at Stormfist, and this time, he will do it without any backstabbing Godwins involved. Of course, this tournament seems to attract different sorts than the Sacred Games did, as his first opponent proves - but that's for the better. Demi is a fantastical android with more than enough power to make most of the fighters at the Games look like chumps. However, Belcoot is no pushover, being well-known for his ability to take massive amounts of punishment, then turn around and give it back threefold with his signature Falcon Rune. This titanic clash of technology against raw human skill won't be an easy battle for Belcoot, but his sheer tenacity will seem him come out on top. You'll just have to wait and see.

Slow.

Clunky.

Primitive.

No match for a flowing, marvelous sword style, a marvel of the blade without peer.

"And then I told him they alllllways went slow and they went BOOM and BANG and they were so slow and broke a lot especially when I'm around and then he kinda nodded and told me to keep talking and then I told him about how they always used hammers except when they didn't and they use swords and some of them have these weird pilots that yell out all their attacks and they're all cool and neat and fun and I just like to go BANG BANG on them sometimes to see what happens and some of them are on this weird show where they fight them with remote controls and sometimes they make really pretty different fires and lights and sparklies and Billy said if I came near his again he'd have to cage me and..." Lu rambled on.

"He really should have talked to me instead, I suppose I was out that day, but he would have actually gotten some useful information about these new robot machines, don't you think, hmmm, Sorenson?" Babbage noted solemnly, as he watched Demi blast an unsuspecting Belcoot into a wall with Phononmezer, before he could move. "I suppose he figured any information was better than none and my, isn't she a marvel of technology?"

"Certainly, master." Sorenson nodded agreeably.
