Season 2, Week 1
Dario
(Chrono Cross)

One of the Four Devas of the Acacia Dragoons, Dario is a monster with his Evil Sword Masamune. Not just are his techs nasty, and his physical attack fearsome (doubly so to the Harmonian Bishop, or He Who Fears a Kick to the Shins), but he counters elemental spells with spells of the opposite element. And, in Luc's case, that equals LoRes, lowering Luc's stats. As well, he has some nasty Blue element spells in the case of Upheaval and IceBlast that he can use. Not that Dario would need to, however. Dario's most powerful attack is his final tech, which happens to be a Black elemental physical. With more than enough HP to take an Eternal Wind (assuming that Luc can pull one off), Dive & Drive will be more than enough to wipe the little mage off the face of the arena, and his little mask too.

The bearer of the True Wind Rune, Luc is quite possibly the strongest mage ever to grace the Suikoden universe. With his powerful parasitic healing in Shining Wind, he's deadly in a duel, too. Against Dario, he'll be able to take advantage of the multiple elements offered to him by his Pale Gate Rune to force Dario to use weaker attacks. All in all, this is a fight that the ambitious wind mage can't reasonably lose... unless one recalls his non-existant physical defence, and Dario's formidable physical prowess. Can Luc overcome his greatest weakness to get his first Heavy win?

Dark Holy Elf
Luc, in a brilliant move, opened not with his True Wind Rune, but with Pale Palace. The Water Dragon summon forced Dario to counter with Weaken. Lowering Luc's physical attack power.

Luc smiled. That attack meant nothing to him, and he'd just sealed off Dario's dreaded dark-typed physical attacks. "So," he said sarcastically. "What are you going to do to me? Attack with Fire magic?"

"No," said Dario, as he cast Strengthen on himself.

Luc cursed himself for not remembering all the Red elements shortly before Dario's regular attack dispatched him in one swing.
