Shadow and Nel have plenty in common. They're both fast and deadly physical attackers, and their prowess have earned them considerable respect in Heavy. It will be Shadow's ability to throw powerful projectiles, however, which ultimately spells Nel's doom. Whether it's the elemental Skeans, the disappearance-causing Inviz Edges, or the sheer power of Tack Stars, Shadow has a item for every occasion, and along with his speed, he's got everything he needs to defeat Nel Zelpher. |

The Crimson Blade has struck true. Cyborg or not, Wren could not stop the fearsome Nel Zelpher from turning him into scrap metal. On to her next opponent - the ninja Shadow, who might have been her twin. While Shadow has mastered the art of ninja darts and evasion, Nel can easily one-up that - her powerful Mirror Slice will leave Shadow a bloody mess, and her lighting magic will rock past Inviz Edges. Oh yes, and she can also heal. Between that and her ample damage against Shadow, Nel will easily triumph. |
SageAcrin Let us see. Shadow is a master of stealth. Nel is also a master of stealth. Shadow uses ninjitsu techniques and throws things to deal damage. Nel also does much the same thing. Shadow can become invisible. Nel can make him become visible with magic, but does little damage. Both are fast fighters, both are quite intelligent, and both are capable of doing whatever is neccisary in a practical, level-headed manner. Shadow has legions of fans because he's a generic token ninja in a popular RPG with a mysterious past. Nel also has legions of fans because her outfit is fanservicy and she has a maid's outfit. The outcome is clear. I suppose the judges would indeed say that Nel lost this match, as she left the ring before Shadow did. However, watching the two of them slice through their rabid, horribly obnoxious, fans in a beautiful, yet horrifically deadly, dance, I'd say that both of them have won, this day.
