Season 46, Week 2
Cecil Harvey
(Final Fantasy IV)

Brunhild verus Ragnarok. Ancient armor forged by the Lunarians versus armor first used in the original Ogre Battle. A battle of two honored holy knights who saved their homelands in a world-rending struggle. And these two fighters are as closely matched as their accomplishments would suggest. Fenril has an edge in evade, damage, and speed, while Cecil's defense and healing gives him a leg up here. He can alternate between blessed healing and strikes with Ragnarok, while all Fenril can do is attack and attack. And the unmovable wall shall stop the irresistible force. It'll be a long, gruelling battle, and who better to win that than the hero who can heal dozens of times with plenty of defense to back that up? Cecil's got this fight in the bag indeed.

Every so often, the Sky Knights descend from their islands to grace us with their awe-inspiring presence in the DL arena. This season, we're proud to welcome back Fenril, the Sky Knight of Ice. Her graceful combo of speed, durability and damage is feared far and wide, and looked upon jealously even by the likes of Raquel Applegate (oh, what she wouldn't give for Fenril's speed!). She faces Cecil Harvey, a truly veritable warrior blessed with the light of the Paladins. He's got two things in his favor, defense and healing. However, with Fenril's speed edge, those won't do him much good, for he'll be on the defensive the whole battle. Fenril's potent offense won't allow much room for error, and he'll certainly get tired of casting magic before Fenril tires of swinging her sword...

"Just to make sure I heard everything right, could you please repeat everything you just said?" asked Cecil, frowning heavily.

Rosa looked down once again at the sheet of paper and sighed. While her husband trained for his fight, she had taken her time off to study Fenril of the Ice and the findings were not positive at all. She then sent Edge to spy on her (Much to his delight), and his findings unfortunately matched hers. Rosa let out another sigh before saying the depressive tally:

"I'll resume it again... She owns the most powerful holy blade from her universe. You have the most powerful holy blade from your universe. She has hefty Holy resist. You don't. Plus, she's much faster, stronger and tougher than you are."

"Eh, with the way you are going, I was half expecting to hear 'Better looking'." said Cecil in a sarcastic tone.

"That too." added Rosa with a nod.

After a minute of awkward silence, Cecil commented: "... Anyway, the main problem is that she has high Holy resist, right?"

"Yes. Well, all of her resistances are..."

Cecil raised his hand and interrupted her with a smile. "Then I have a plan... Time to change the training regiment!"

"Mwahahaha!" laughed evilly Dark Knight Cecil as he entered the arena, facing a confused Fenril. "Nobody expect the dark knight!"

"I most certainly did not." commented Fenril with a cocked eyebrow. "If I am not mistaken, in your universe, even a neophite paladin is leagues stronger than even an experienced dark knight, is it not?"

"Maybe..?" answered Cecil with an hint of self-doubt creeping in.

"And in my universe, they are mass-cloned by Rashidi... You recall Prince Gares I presume, the recent Light downgrader? He is the best dark knight in these lands, sad as this may be."

"Your point?" asked Cecil defiantly, his helmet hiding his growing fear.

Fenril simply pointed at the tip of Brunhild before stabbing Cecil in the stomach.

"Point duly noted." noted Cecil as he stared at the sword jutting out of him before passing out.
