Season 53, Week 1
Demi
(Phantasy Star 4)

All systems are clear and finely tuned. Demi is perfectly adjusted for this new season, and nothing is going to get in her way - even if her adorable opponent is almost as apt as her in a fight. The Wendel cleric Carlie may be quite an accomplished healer with a few nasty tricks, but her offense needs work. While she can stay afloat a long time, Demi's self-repairing mechanisms last even longer, and Phononmezer is quite a ways better than Carlie's Unicorn spells or thwacks. The Black Curse spell is a waste of time on Demi to boot, given the android's immunity to status and stat busters. Demi's in for a good run this time around, and packing it against one of Heavy's best is just icing.

You all know the story, right? Where the bright, cheerful young girl takes on the cold, emotionless robot programmed to fight? And the girl triumphs by using necromantic powers to neuter the poor robot's abilities, imbue her weapons with unstoppable dark strength, and call forth undead to overwhelm her opponent's pitiful attempts at healing just to stay alive? You may not have quite heard the tales in this exact format, but they're widespread. Classic stuff, really, and Carlie will play it by the book like a good, chipper lady. Black Curse will put Demi on her heels, Ghoul and Ghost castings will force her back, and a dark saber powered tech or two will knock her down for good.

DragonKnight Zero
Demi wins the quickdraw. With the speed and precision achievable by an android, her rendition of a Motavian landscape came out quicker and better looking than Carlie's crayon creation of the Lampflower Forest. To seal the deal even more; Ashley, Virginia, and Jude were judging and personal bias was greenlighted beforehand.

As for the last minute change in contest, Piastol arranged it. Pedophiles and others with the specific types of fetishes that would matter in such a match showed up to an empty arena.

Demi: 24
Carlie: 14
