Are they just letting random monsters into the arena these days?! What an affront to the Great Sorceress! Granted, Edea may not normally mind much, but when a Sorceress enters battle, she means business. Suicune has impressive water magic, speed, and durability. Fortunately for Edea, what Suicune does not have is the ability to block instant death, or even rudimentary status. A single casting of Death should send Suicune on it’s way, and of course, as a Sorceress, Edea has a bounty of magic defense to help her shrug off the Pokeman’s deluge of attacks. And if Edea feels like putting on a show, a combination of Reflect, Silence, Slow, and Maelstorm could ensure that spectators get their money’s worth.

The great water gerbil has little to fear from this witch. You see, Edea's power comes not from her magic or powers as a Sorceress, nor even from the strange temporal possession from her most famed battles. No, Edea wields the more mundane, but considerably more effective, powers of a strict but fair school teacher. Her disapproving eyes and deliberate manner can sap the fighting spirit from the most hardened foes and fleeting memories of their schooldays come roaring back to consciousness. A Pokémon like Suicune, however, has no such human limitations, and will instead quickly and brutally bowl down the witch with repeated Hydro Pumps, merrily inspiring a much greater fear in its future opponents.

Edea is a Sorceress with quite a lot of power fested in that figure of hers.
Suicune is a sort of dog that became one with the very force of water itself!
Edea can freeze things solid.
I don't really think Suicune has much of an answer to that. But all the kids in the neighbourhood were happy! Yaaaay, free ice(cream)!

I imagine Edea has this match in the bag, unless of course Suicune calls the villagers. Cures for being turned into newts or frogs are fairly common these days, so one of her prime witching tools is removed right there.
