Season 18, Week 5
Luna
(Lunar: Silver Star Story)

After a heated match with the well-respected Garet, Luna now faces a somewhat less impressive opponent. Still, Rico didn't get to the Light finals by luck, so she will have to take this fight seriously. Fortunately for Luna, after two uses of Cascade Song have boosted her defense, she will be able to take any Deathblow Rico can dish out, and let her singing heal all the damage away. From there, all she has to do is beat the sturdy wrestler into submission , and while this won't be a quick or easy task, it's very possible - perhaps even inevitable - that Luna will claim a championship this week.

Dispatching Doma's last retainer was an interesting fight for Rico. But in the end it really wasn't much of a challenge, and this week's match looks even easier. Since he resists sleep, Rico can forget about Luna's sole status threat, and a little strategy will prevent her healing from having any impact at all. Taking a few rounds to build up his AP allows him to take all the damage he would have done in those rounds and use it in one move, overwhelming both Luna's healing and her stat increases. This simple strategy will give Rico both the Light title and the vindcation that only victory can truly provide.

Goddesses are truly creatures of limitless power and ability.

However, have you ever seen one take a chain of piledrivers from a giant mutant with orange hair, and live? Didn't think so.

Luna: 31
Rico Banderas: 34

Sei
Who'd have thought that, if applied with just the right angle and momentum, Luna's Dream Cane would make a very audible, meaty smack. And who'd have thought that Rico's Steel Body technique doesn't give him balls of steel as well?

Not the audience members that's for sure, as they collectively watched the cross-eyed wrestler slowly keel over like the fall of man.

It would be a good match, but all Rico has to do is build his build his AP and Luna is going to be dead. Period. Xenogears and Xenosaga are both going to have champions when the day is through.

Hate Hate Hate
Poor Luna.

All of her high-powered healing skills are of little use when her opponent can inflict several rounds worth of damage in ONE round, overpowering her healing abilities.
