Red and Blue clash here, as the orginial jack of all trades squares off against his modern-day rival in varied and efficient spellcasting: A blue mage. A limit-using blue mage, at that. And while Quistis certainly rivals Red Wizard in skillsets, she can't access it until her life dips to dangerously low levels. RW can easily exploit this by crippling Quistis with any number of deadly statuses to keep her helpless while her HP are high, and then use one of his countless supporting spells to bypass her dangerous limit range.

Balamb Garden's most popular teacher finally returns to the arena, and her first foe in eighteen seasons is a figure from the far-off early days of RPG history - one of the original Light Warriors! Fortunately for Quistis, Red Wizard has no powerful damage that might kill her before she can access a Limit. And from there a wealth of options opens to her, from full healing to the brute force of Shockwave Pulsar and the totally debilitating status of Bad Breath. All are more than enough to finish the feather-capped fool.
Adumbro Deus And now it's time for a defensive strategy! Red Wizard knows what happens when Quistis gets down to critical and doesn't intend to make it possible, so rather then going on the offensive, he alternates between using saber on himself (gotta love level 7 spells), and healing. Finally, when he's through casting saber, he casts haste to double his number of attacks, effectively doubling all those saber bonuses, and then attacks, finally. The attack, being highly powered up and performed many many times, is brutal on Quistis and immiediatly defeats her.

the jp While ARUB will stop Degenerator cold. I don't think there's much in RW's playbook to deal with Shockwave Pulsar. All the feats and min-maxing in the world won't save twink boy from that move.
