Thus far, Franz has defeated a smelly ape and a dragon; that his next opponent is a ninja should be no surprise. Perhaps, he'll meet a pirate next. In any case, the legionaire has a simple, though not necessarily easy, battle ahead of him. The taciturn ninja may be faster than Franz, but his lightning blasts will strike hard against Watari's lacking magical defenses. It will be a hard fought victory, but Franz has the tools, the talent, and the will to win and advance to the next inevitable RPG cliche. |

The ninja will always win. They are skilled in deadly arts that no simple soldier with a spear could ever comprehend. Watari has the speed advantage over his fellow Fire Bringer, and also in every single possible way. Watari not only goes first, but he is recruitable first and betrayed his people first - take that, Franz. This match will be sealed with faster attacks, better dodging and counters; this might be a match where Watari actually draws that blade of his rather than just throwing darts all the time. |
CmdrKing Unlike his previous matches, Watari was a little worried about facing Franz. Afterall, the mantor trainer was actually an experienced soldier, and being attacked with a lightning rune is not a pleasant prospect, even if Franz isn't the most skilled with it. Watari's solution to the problem was as straightforward as it was ingenious. A carefully placed letter, seemingly from Sten of Highfort, detailed a plan to hold Iku hostage as part of some further, undefined plot to avenge the monkey's loss weeks before. Not one for diplomacy or critical thinking, Franz immediately gathered his platoon and launched the most impressive Mantor assult the DL had ever seen. Of course, Iku was actually at a spa, a little vactation that had been donated to her by a mysterious benefactor. It had all been so sudden she had neglected to inform Franz, hence his suspectability to the ransom. It wasn't likely anyone would pin it all on Watari though. Since, really, who cares if Highfort is razed to the ground by a hotheaded mantor trainer? Franz: 8 |
