Oh, life is so hard for Ms. Esteed. Between the grueling sunbathing trips and the lengthy shopping sprees for her classic unzipped pants, Sophia rarely gets a break. That's why she's looking forward to her match with Hervey - as, after all, it's rare for Sophia to get such an easy match. Her powerful draining magic makes it difficult for the offensively challenged Hervey to make his damage stick, especially considering his poor Magic Defense. Defeating her pirate opponent will be far easier than finding that perfect pair of jeans, getting the ideal manicure, or dragging Fayt away from those stupid game machines. Sophia will be glad to get this nice break from the rigorous challenges of her normal life and the arena.

Now, it is bad form for a man to hit a lady, but Hervey has been around Kika long enough to know that not all ladies are terribly ladylike. There is, obviously, the chance to win Sophia over with his manly pirate charm and end the fight immediately, and surely a young impressionable girl like Sophia could be swayed by a little bit of the yo ho ho - ho ho! - and a smidgen of rum. If it comes down to it, a good sword arm and setting things on fire with his Rune should get the job done for Hervey. Sophia may be doing well in light, but she hasn't had to fight a pirate yet. Besides, Hervey can't lose yet - he has to prove that he is more than an equal for Sigurd. They may be old friends, but they are even older rivals.
