Season 31, Week 2
Karyl Sheeden
(Tales of Destiny)

This week, the Light arena shall be filled with a true cacophony as two dueling musicians fight it out for the title of supreme singer...for all of two seconds! Since Karyl is significantly tougher than a fly, Edward's flimsy attacks won't pose any problem at all. And since Karyl's guitar and Golden Voice pack significantly more punch than a stiff breeze, Edward will be knocked out cold once that first hit lands. Better bring your high-speed cameras, this Battle of the Bards promises to end faster than a boy band's time in the spotlights!

It's a battle of bardic badasses this week. The blond bombers both reside in royal abodes, wailing about lost loves and unjust assaults on their dignity. Edward's soulful sound is far superior to that of the Aquaveilian reject's attempt at singing - not to mention that assault on the very concept of music that is his lute. All Edward needs is a speedy song and a quick strike, and he'll smash poor Karyl (d) flat. After he's laied down the law physically, he can entertain the crowd with his far superior singing and harp-playing. Simple as that.

Only these two people could have a battle so epic.

Notes would be played. Songs would be sung. An entire world would quake at the might of the conflict.

For, you see, Karyl and Edward, both being musicians, knew that their normal repertoires couldn't possibly be enough, this time.

Discordant, badly played, rap music and pop filled the air, as both attempted to drive the other senseless.

Ultimately, Karyl won by simply playing the Hoshigami level up music several thousand times in a row. Edward ran out of the arena gibbering.

Needless to say, this also drove him quite insane. The only word they've gotten out of him since is "Candelabra", for some inexplicable reason.

Sometimes, when you win, you lose.

Then again, can someone who has managed to flee the very world, a harsh, hard enviroment to start with, truly be said to have lost?

Well, when Hoshigami music's involved, yeah, they can. So much for that philosophical argument.
