Well, Cleo certainly knows better then to underestimate a child in the Duelling League. They tend to be far more powerful then their appearance or stature would suggest, and from all reports, Palom certainly fits that description. But even if his looks might be deceiving in some areas, in others they are very, very honest. For all his magical power, Palom is still both a dedicated mage and a small boy, and he takes hits exactly as well as you would expect from that combination. While Cleo might not be the most powerful warrior around, she's still a soldier and should be more then capable of taking down Palom quickly enough to avoid the worst of his spells.

he bratty Mystian mage has made good on his old threats to pulverize Light. With Nara and Josh now nothing but patients in the local revival center, he's got a reputation to back up his arrogant boasts. Cleo's just another spellslinger to practice his brutally accurate status attacks on. Will he kill her with Stop? Death? Or get silly and use Toad? Tir's loyal servant doesn't have a prayer of resisting any of those attacks. Even worse for Cleo, her dreaded Explosion spell is no match for the magical protection provided by his Sage's Robes. It's time for Palom to prove all his potential - and win his way into a division where people won't die to a single offhand spell.

A young girl.
There were many ways this could end.

Cleo slumped to the ground, stunned.
Her opponent was simply too much for her, and too little like she'd heard.
Her magic resources were exhausted. Her attacks had no effect on her foe, who had simply shrunk her.
Where had everything gone wrong?
Cleo still wondered as a blast of light stole her thoughts away.

"Remind me. How did you talk me into dressing up as you?" Porom asked, disgusted, as she walked out of the arena. "And you did disable the judges, right?"
"Oh, sure. And you did great! Taking all that painful fire magic for me! You're the best sister e-" "Stop that." "Okay, okay. At least I didn't accept Zidane's deal to-" "Don't remind me." Porom said disgustedly, pulling off her wig. "Just win in the finals, okay? This had better have been worth it." She added, coughing up some ash from the repeated firestorms.
