Season 39, Week 1
Mullen
(Grandia)

Mullen's got it easy this time around. Unlike that diminutive Evil Gaia, General Mullen plans to pave his way to eternal Light Championship glory, and the first victim is Irvine. Mullen's got plenty of tricks up his sleeve to send the wannabe cowboy to the DL Infirmary. With a few slices of his sword and some stat-buffing, most likely WOW!, he can easily take apart his rather fragile opponent. Mullen's not known for his durability, either, but Irvine's not going to be doing much at all with his puny gunshots. If he got a limit, that might change, but Mullen will probably be able to simply bypass it with an all-out rush at the end of the match, ensuring his opponent never manages to get a turn to use it. An interesting duel, no doubt, but Mullen's got plenty of things on his side, and all of Light will tremble in fear after his swift victory!

Alright, ladies, Irvine knows that you've all been just dying to see him back in action, but please try to refrain yourselves from rushing him. There's plenty of Irvine to go around, after all, and he'll be more then happy to make sure that every babe around gets a taste of that Kinneas magic. But first, he's got a little bit of business to attend to, namely plugging a few bullets in some scrub called Mullet or something like that. Shouldn't take long, as that loser has all the destructive power of a toothless dog and is so bad at taking hits that he makes said dog look like a tank in comparison. With a handful of Pulse or AP Ammo to take advantage of Mullen's complete inability to get around a Limit, Irvine is all set up to win this sorry excuse for a battle in style, and then get back to what's really important - his adoring female fans.

"A sniper. A man who's job is to kill from afar. Cold and effective, this warrior lives and breathes battle. Nothing can shake it. Nothing can stop it.And that's why Irvine Kinneas is to be the next member of the Norgard defense force."

"Hehe! Perfect, Lord Vaynard! Irvine's much better than that lamer Zemeckis! How dare he shoot me. Why I'll just have to pout about it, which reminds me of the day after senior prom.."

"...AHEM, FAIRIE."

"Right, right! Anyway, I rigged up a viewscreen to follow the action. Oooh, Irvine fires at Mullen. Mullen stabs Irvine. Huh, that's odd. Irvine's curling up into a ball and sobbing. Weird, looks like Mullen wins!"

"..Vaynard?"

"Yes, Guinglain?"

"We're really going to accept a loser who just lost to a Grandia boss into the NDF?"

"Yes, Guinglain. So what if he came up a bit short? That steely resolve! Those bright eyes! That outfit! He'll fight right in with us here."

"..Sigh."

"Hehehe! This is perfect! Now if we can just get Duran to stop being so mopey and dress up like a construction worker.."
