Season 39, Week 2
Opera Vectra
(Star Ocean: The Second Story)

With her massive gun primed to shoot and her vicious 3 eyed staredown, Opera is one fearsome Light competitor no matter what the scenario. That is especially true this season, as the Tetragene is far more determined than ever to fight her way back to her original division and claim the respect she deserves. Luckily, her first challenger will pose little threat to the battle hardened Opera. Melville may have impressive skills for his age, but his sub par speed and damage are no match for the might and range of Opera’s Alpha-on-One skill. And if Opera can get a little leeway, she can use Healing Star to set the young boy back even further. After all the battles she’s fought, taking down a child with a sword should pose little challenge to this three eyed damsel of war.

A child against someone who fought God's Ten Wise Men? Sounds like a mismatch, but then again Melville's overcome far worse. Living on his own in Zexen, he survived the streets and even formed the Saint Loa Knights in his free time. While Opera's battle pedigree is impressive, her skills are much less so. Her gun lacks the impact of a good spell or sword, and she's no tougher than her lightly clothed outfit would suggest. Meanwhile, Melville possesses an S in Heavy Damage, giving him more physical power than most of the Knights of Zexen! With chain mail armor giving him plenty of physical staying power as well, he's not in any danger of folding to a few gunshots from Opera. It's time to teach Opera the power of the Swordsman of Rage with a few well placed criticals.

The battle was fierce and fast. Waterfalls fell full-speed, mountains shattered, laser beams clashed with sword edges. Then, a flying Blastoise wearing nightgowns appeared granting wishes. However, it was pretty dumb, so every time it granted a wish, it actually created Shion fanservice instead, much to the horror of peasants.

At least, that's what Melville said in the day after his match with Opera, as he recovered from his horrified stupor and wall-splitting migraine. Alanis couldn't help but giggle relentlessly, while Elliot shaked his head in disbelief. The leader of St. Loa's Knights, so shamefully felled by a floozy with three eyes and a glorified BB Gun. But then, looking back, it was comprehensible why it happened.

"Wait. So, you challenged that wee little boy to a drinking game contest instead of an arena fight?", Deis blinked as she deadpanned.

"It was easy to convince the judges, really. They -did- hesitate to make the drinking game 'watch XS3. Every time Shion does something stupid, have a drink. If the writers do something headdesk-worthy, take two', but a little cleavage solved the deal. Edge being one of the judges makes things easier, y'know", Opera snickered openly. "Besides, the kid probably enjoyed it. I just hope he can handle the hangover without hallucinations, that was some pretty thick stuff."

"I suppose. I just can't wait to see the DL soccer moms driving up your house and rallying after this... well, the two or three of them", Deis snorted plainly.

Opera opened a bottle of wine and widely smiled, grabbing a cup to pour the drink in. "Exactly my plan, girlfriend. Now, do you want a drink?"
