Out and about for Bird-likes everywhere, winged warrior Balbaroy hopes to strike a blow in Light this season for all bird-kind- even the flightless ones! As a member of the Shining Force, he made himself renowned for fast, strong strikes, and those tactics will serve him well as he takes on the venerable mage Gandar. Balbaroy's opponent can hit hard, but it'll be an uphill struggle for him to do so fast enough. Meanwhile, Balbaroy's wings allow him to bypass that hill, the one behind it and the mountain range beyond. The only logical landing point? The Light finals of course!

A great man like Gandar reduce to this, fighting in the arena against the weakest warriors of the universe, fighting a common foot soldier? What a disgrace. That Valkyrie has gone to great lengths to prevent Gandar from taking his rightful place as lord and master of all he surveys, but this is merely a minor setback! This puny underling will be no match for the stength of Gandar's magics; Poison Blow alone will send him to his much deserved appointment with Hel, most assuredly. Just wait, Valkyrie. Gandar is coming, even if he must ascend through the ranks to do it!

Gandar takes his clue from Lezard. He, much like the glasses wearing Valkyrie stalker, joins late and wields powerful magics with a dubious boss form. He opts for such a form against Balbaroy, assuming the birdman from the world of Shining Force can't stand up to it's power. All that energy. All that magic, coursing through Gandar's veins. It's e nough magical power to make anyone shake in terror, let alone a single light.
Gandar's still a frail old man. There's nothing like a cure for the magical doomies than cutting your foe's guts out and letting him die screaming while trying to piece himself together.
Rather similar to how Claude handled Lezard, come to think of it.
Balbaroy: 26
Gandar: 15
