This fight will require far more caution than Aguro's scrum with Tempest last week. Garet mixes fire magic and some status with his physical attacks. His swordplay is no better than average in Light, and Aguro thus a huge advantage in any physical slugfest. Toughness granted from extensive training as an officer in the army means Aguro can withstand any damaging attacks sent his way. Comparable speed helps Aguro as well. The red haired main's best friend is going to have to be exceptionally careful when picking his spots to strike, but someone who took down the Sinstrials shouldn't fear some punk kid too terribly much.

It's a blazing duel between two swordsmen! One of these swordsmen can cast magic, and that's the swordsman that's going to win this fight. Aguro may get that first strike in, but that's all he's going to get in! One helping of the Djinni Scorch's Stun and the swordsman'll have no alternative but to suffer Garet's blistering offense - and while Aguro's physical defense is pretty admirable, Garet has fine enough magical attacks to render that defense completely and totally useless. A purely physical fight is just the sort of duel Garet's made for, anyway, and his advantages simply cement the match in his favor. Grilled green-hair newt, anyone?

Taishyr
Two swordsmen of fine caliber.
One has magic, Djinn and the intelligence of a brick. The other has far more intelligence, but no magic.
Sadly, the Djinn don't rely on Garet's intelligence...
-----------------------
"OW OW OW STOP FLYING AT ME!" Aguro yelled, running around as Garet's released Djinn simply divebombed him.
"Hey, stop it! You're supposed to be- ow, stop clipping me!" Garet screamed, ducking low to avoid the Djinn choosing to go past Garet's head as the best flight path.
On the sidelines, all the remaining Adepts, ideally there to cheer Garet on, stared in stunned silence. Felix was the first to speak. "...is he normally this stupid?"
Ivan smirked at this. "Sadly, scarily, frustratingly, no."
"Well, that's- ......"
"He's usually worse." Mia nodded.
"...... it takes talent at failure to not be able to control Djinn at -all-, though."
"Hey, unlike Isaac, djinn -can- say no to Garet." Jenna ribbed. "Right, Isaac?"
"Oh, go shove it." Isaac growled, watching Garet's Djinn finally chase Aguro out of the arena. "Let's go knock Garet out and go home."
Aguro: 5
Garet: 28
