Season 20, Week 1
Nikki
(Chrono Cross)

The young rocker has a distinct psychological advantage in this match-up. While Algus is a battle-hardened warrior, he still carries his ideology on his sleeve, and in his mind no commoner can have the sort of wealth, adoration, and success that Nikki does. Nikki’s mere existence may well win the fight, but if it doesn't, Nikki still has his righteous guitar riffs, which will easily overwhelm the squire and provide an awesome treat for his legions of fans.

Sneaky and more powerful than you'd expect, this Squire-turned-pawn has returned. Algus brings with him a sword, good stats, and not much else. That's more than enough to knock off a relatively weak fighter like Nikki, who is a mage without magic in the tough world of the Duelling League. A few well-placed sword strikes should end this joke of a match, and teach yet another commoner that it doesn't pay to mess with Algus Sandalfas.

Now, I'm sure you'd think that a soldier trained in sword and bow would win against a musician. After all, one is well versed in the art of making the other guy stop moving, while the other only writes verses well (sometimes, when he feels like it, which isn't often).

However, that thinking ignores one very important fact.

See, while Algus is experienced in taking a person's life, he isn't that experienced in taking music done with a noise level that rivals a squadron of F-16s taking off at the same time.

One long number of hard rockin' later, and the poor squire fell to the ground, his eyes a-rolling, his mouth a-frothing, and his ears a-bleeding.
