When approached for an interview Lino simply had this to say: "I may not look like much to you people, but I can handle myself in a fight. See this pointy end? This goes into that old man. Maybe if he quiets down that loud mouth for a while he can even get a chance to do something first." So while Adray has to cast spells all match, dodging and weaving, looking for the time he nees, Lino simply has to walk up to him and give him a beating. And hey, Lino has some health, so that should give him plenty of time for the stabbing and bludgeoning before he succumbs to the mage's assault. He has fought alongside fighters with true runes; this simple man with his basic Runology should prove no real challenge. There's also the whole stabbing thing too; that should help. Stabbing, thrusting, and otherwise brutalizing.

"Bwhahahaha! So, you've finally stopped dealing with the runts and chosen a real fighter to clean this division up? You haven't let my age deceive you, and with good reason too! I may look old, but that hasn't gotten me down yet! I'm as strong and aware as I was when I was your age, little one! And it looks like you've chosen a similarly rugged warrior as my first opponent! Wonderful! Unfortunately for him, he's a little slow with that unwiei..uneweildl...large spear he's got there, making him a perfect target for my arsenal of secret combat techniques! Bwhahahaha! Spicule, Southern Cross, Emotion Torrent, Sea Gate, Healing, Angel Feather...nothing he has can stand in the way of that kind of repertoire! A walk in the park! Bwhahahaha! Now, the bigger question is if he'd be interested in my daughter..."
OblivionKnight "So...what you're proposing to me, old man, is that I propose to your daughter and throw the match because you're giving me such a 'wonderful prize'?" Lino glared at the last two words, as he eyed Adray up.
"That's it!" the old man yelled out in glee. It was an interesting situation, at the least: Adray had approached Lino nine times before the match about marrying his daughter, and now, when the match was actually underway, he still insisted on trying to marry off his daughter. Of course, Lino wasn't interested.
"How in the name of the runes would you...ever conceive I'd do that? I don't care about marriage! I have a battle to fight! And win, you old coot!"
"But how can you resist such a beautiful woman?! Are you just hiding something, Mr. I-Love-Rainbows?"
"ME!? Haven't you ever looked at your daughter? She's never played "shiver-me-timbers"! Come on, don't tell me you're blind!"
"She's told me she's not a fan of the timber. She's not much of a sailor"
Lino's mouth hung open. His eyes bulged out, and his mind started to spin. Was this old man really that dense?
"Look," Lino started, "I don't know if anyone's ever told you this, but I can't marry your daughter because she's not ready to get married to a man yet"
Adray laughed. "Oh, she will be when I tell her to. And you look like a strong, healthy man that'll help bear many grandchildren for me!"
Lino, now, was becoming visibly red. "Come on! Can't you see? She's not on the side most women are! Haven't you seen her with Nel!?"
"Nel? Yeah, they're great friends. I wish they'd both settle down with a nice man, though. Like you!"
Lino was now completely red, and angry. "Look old man! Claire would never marry me! You know why? Because she's a L-E-S-B..."
But Lino never finished the phrase. Hearing the words he had heard many times before regarding his beloved daughter, the stalwart warrior charged at Lino before he could raise his spear. A flurry of sword blows, as well as a Southern Cross and finishing the spectacle with an Emotion Torrent, and Adray stepped back from the gaping hole where Lino once stood.
"Eh, perhaps he wasn't right for my daughter after-all. Now, who's my next opponent...
