Season 29, Week 2
Pikachu
(Pokémon Series)

Who's ready for cultural icons? Everyone's favorite electric rat is back to prove once again that cuteness is the greatest weapon in RPGDL Light. Well, cuteness and an electric shock attack that would make superheroes and supervillains alike yellow with envy. Adding to that with Pikachu's speed and his Quick Attack, Pikachu hopes to make fast work of the lesser of the Schroedinger siblings and defuse his dreams of a Light title before they can even start. No trainer will be needed for a Pikachu victory in this round. What is that you hear, off in the distance, drawing closer? It's the "Pikachu for Season 29 Light Champ" marketing bandwagon. Care to take a ride?

The Schroedinger Gang show just how much clout they have in the multiverse as Alfred enters Light division this season opposite his fellow teammate, Shady Thousand. It should be interesting to see if Alfred can get farther than Shady's disappointing loss last week - but Alfred will have to get past this first round to do that. Facing off against the reputable Pikachu, he has his work cut out for him. His demolition skills and his magic defenses will be put to the test. Luckily, he can at least avoid a TKO via Thunder Shock's paralysis. Will that be enough? Possibly. After all, if dynamite makes fishing quite easy, just imagine what it could do to build a better mousetrap.

Normally, Pikachu gets made a mockery out of thanks to his low durability. On the other hand, his opponent this week is Alfred-freaking-Schroedinger. He whose durability is just as on bad footing. He whose damage is SO bad that it probably can't kill the electric rat in a hit.

For all his failings, at least Pikachu has decent speed and decent damage from the Light ball. Alfred has none of those claims other than 'puny Wild ARMS 3 boss'. Which isn't much of a claim.

Pikachu: 54
Alfred Schroedinger: 31

Imekko
Yeah, Alfred may get a bit fried by the lightning rat... but Pikachu gets blown up. There's only one or two moves in Pokemon that uses explosions, and they tend to come at the users life, so he doesn't even see it coming... better mouse trap indeed.

metalfushi
a man cunning in explosives and a pyro by birthright versus a little yellow thunder mouse the only thing we should hear is " pika pika-BOOM"

Xan the shadow
Unless Pikachu can use it's crazy strong anime plot powers, it has no chance ever. The yellow rat is a horrible pokemon, which anyone who bought the POS yellow version can attest. Even horrendously ugly people like Marcus and Cinna could kill it

This week, I'll pray for two things.
1. That Alfred beats Pika.
2. The SD3 doesn't suffer the same fate as the Chrono Cross crew.
