Season 29, Week 4
Relm Arrowny
(Final Fantasy VI)

Having slain the detestable, brain-washing mouse, Relm now stands at the crux of her career thus far. Just one more battle, and she'll be able to escape the boring Light division - and, in what should be an easily won match, she's fighting one of Light's weakest competitors, the Woren chieftan Cray, a warrior infamous for his speed - or lack thereof. The little girl shall slay the giant pussy! With her Fake Mustache and Coronet, she can once again take control over her opponent, forcing him to defeat himself. Once she's got Cray under her control, she can have him whack himself over the head with his giant piece of lumber or blast the earth from underneath him until he's unconscious, easily ending the battle in her favour. With her Cat's Hood, she guards against Cray's potent earth magics if Control misses. With much better reflexes, she'll easily get the drop on him, and with the Man Eater, she can cut the catman into little pieces and ship them to Katt. This is a battle she's made to win - a battle that's destined to go down in history as one of her greatest.

The leader of the Worens has long festered in the hellhole called Light. Considered too slow to compete, especially compared to his fellow clansmembers Katt and Rei, his worth has been downplayed for ages. But now, Cray stands as a tower of strength in the twenty-ninth and most pathetic incarnation of Light to date. His durability is akin to that of a god compared to Light's normal damage, his own log attacks thunderous against the fragile frames his opponents have thus far possessed. And his buffing spells are a skillset his rivals would kill for - Speed solves his one statistical flaw, while Might and Protect boost his offence and defence to insane levels! And against Relm, the infamous mage with no magic, all he needs to do is improve his stats, laugh at all her puny attempts to damage him, and smite with the fury only a wild cat can possess. Even her Control technique, which is questionable to begin with, can be rendered laughable with his status-resisting Mist Armour. Watch out, Light - Cray has come to crush you, and return to his rightful division at last.

Let's review.

Relm is a talented painter, whose magical powers can breathe life into the very things she draws, creating fantastic monsters and demons to assault her foes.

Or she can control a person's very mind, shattering their hopes of victory by forcing them to pummel themselves indefinately, until, finally, they collapse, defeated by their own hand.

As an added bonus, she happens to be good at beating people to death with magical rods.

Cray, on the other hand, uses a giant wooden paddle for a weapon. Against a little child.

...

Between the paddling of Chelsea and Relm, and now Yulie's loss, this has not been a banner season for little girls, has it?

On the upside, a bunch of other girls took Relm, Yulie and Chelsea out to beat Albedo to death. It's a fun past-time for girls who have lost matches, and it's even quite entertaining.

Though it takes far too long to get him to stop enjoying it, sadly.

As for Cray, he was promptly taken in by Duelling League Child Wellfare Services, shortly after the match. There's no escaping the long arm of the law.

Granted, that just means Cray gets paddled by Macha.

Seems stop stop repeat offenders, though.

This just in, the officials have deemed that Cray is having it too easy and should have to fight a two-on-one in the finals. Rather than getting an easy win on Lezard in the finals, he will have a heated match against Hrist and Jogurt!

Relm beat Pikachu. PIKACHU. The annoying electric rat with the power of truly disturbing fans and marketing power. And now she's facing a big slow cat? (An oxymoron in itself!) Cray hasn't got a hope in hell.
