Season 44, Week 2
Cius
(Suikoden 5)

Luck. Sometimes you have it, and sometimes you don't. After much waiting, perennial odd-man-out security guard Cius finally gets his match in thes arena to prove his mettle, and it's nigh-unwinnable. Sure, Cius is a great tank capable of shrugging off many a blow, skills quite handy in controlling Agate Prison he'll have you know, but Cius is just a guard ultimately. Getting around a trained gladiator like Zegai will be difficult - wait. According to Lucretia, in the Dueling League, you're not allowed to assign a proxy to fight for you? ...well then. It seems Cius's luck may be on the rebound; he won't be needing his favorite prisoner's stratagems for winning this match after all. Looks like a certain spoiled nobleman will be going into lockdown!

A lowly GUARD thinks to challenge the noble EURAM BAROWS? What audacity! What cheek! What foolish bravado! Commoners should know their place, and this one's place is at the point of Euram's blade! Surely this Cius realizes that, as a member of one of Falena's most prestigious families, Euram has as a matter of course been trained by the finest fencers in the Queendom? Euram's style may LOOK like it's composed solely of ineffectual flailing, but appearances can be deceptive! This is just a snare for the unwary, and when it's clear that his foe has taken the bait, Euram will strike like a VIPER, his flashing sword cutting through the upstart's defenses with DEADLY FORCE. Stand down while you can, Cius, or this will be the END of you!

"Guards, take this knave away!" Euram cried out loudly.
"Guards!"
"Guards?"
"GUARDS!"

Euram probably should deign to notice the people who work for him. If he had, he'd note that Cius had taken up employment as the head guard in his house. He'd also told all the others to take the afternoon off. He promised he'd take care of Master Euram after all. And take care of him he did.
