Season 47, Week 2
Rude
(Final Fantasy VII)

Rude's mission is strangely familiar today - certainly up his alley. Kidnapping is definitely part of the job description of the Turks, even if their targets seem rather harmless at first glance. And, opposing him, we have... some brown-haired girl of destiny whose healing powers are curiously ineffective, at least in a dueling setting. Still, Rude can't shake the feeling that something's wrong here. For starters, what's with the horse? The sword rather than a staff is also disconcerting. Still. Against high magic resistance, Rude knows better than to bother with his magic, but that's fine; he's a better boxer anyway. Yes, Rude will prove himself by beating up an innocent holy maiden. That's the Turk way, and Rude is far from ashamed of subscribing to its tenets.

Despite being the daughter of the almighty Gawain, one of the four riders of Daien, and the sister of Ike, the hero of the Mad King's War, Mist is not quite the fighter you'd expect her to be. That, however, doesn't really matter, as she's still far from shabby in the sword arts. Well, and facing a guy who is not exactly the most competent of warriors can't hurt. Even if he's part of an elite squad run by a world-class organization, you can't really give too much credit to big powers. Every time he punches her, of course, she just stabs him back with a counter, and then stabs him again! Yeah, he has magic, but then, Mist just shows off her brilliant magic defense to shrug off his attack, and stabs him again! Many stabs with a Silver Sword later, Mist should have a clean victory.

"So...explain what happened again?" Ike said

"Well, I figured since I knew I couldn't beat him, I'd talk him into simply not hurting me, and even bribed him with a special recipe."

"So...you're giving him something cause you gave up?"

"I never said what I gave him was GOOD, now did I?"

"...well, that explains the vomitting I guess...though I thought your cooking improved far beyond that, Mist."

"Just cause I'm better doesn't mean I still can't make attrocitious meals, you know!"

Poor Mist. Can't use her staves and her horse doesn't matter in a duel setting. Sure, Rude is hardly amazing in a straight up fight despite the shades, but even he can handle a healer who can't heal herself reliably.
