Season 53, Week 1
Nina Wyndia
(Breath of Fire III)

When one thinks of Nina, they think of a powerful magical girl from the Breath of Fire series with wings! Well, Nina the Third fits under... most of those categories... but let's not get into mocking Nina the Third just yet! She's facing someone slow with low magic defense, so she'll just be throwing those Myollnir's out like crazy! She also has the ever wonderful Blunt to make his damage worse, and possibly a parasitic healing move in the mix to keep her afloat. What? High end physical fighter, especially for Light? Pfft, since when has that stopped her! Its not like she's one of the frailest things this side of Jogurt, right? So this fight should be an epic cinch for her!

Lorbenian's finest commander returns to the area this season, mightier than ever. Aguro is truly a man among boys in light, boasting gamebest damage, excellent durability, and the fine mind that matches someone who served as both an officer and as a friend to Maxim's descendant. He'll put down the piddling Nina 3 in a few swings of his Zirco Axe, and claim a well deserved victory on his run to a light title. Besides, he can't let that punk elf girl Jerin show him up with her success in Heavy. Aguro has a reputation to protect, after all; getting smashed by someone with the deplorable offense and reputation of Nina the Third would shame him forever.

Gatewalker
Large man with a sword.

Small annoying princess with magic.

Normally, the laws of RPGs would say that Nina should kick Aguro's ass around the block with room to spare.

In this case, Aguro politely inquired about the history of Wyndia and while Nina was distracted with happiness that someone actually WANTED her to talk more, he hit her upside the head with a sword really hard.

Of course he got stepped on by a very large dragon as soon as he left the arena, but frankly he'd been expecting that to happen, win or lose, ever since he saw who his opponent was.

Hopefully the healers wouldn't have any trouble putting him back together for the next match.
