Season 17, Week 3
Cai
(Brigandine)

Disposing of the pathetic Lucia was a solid start for Cai's second entry into the DL. Now the General gears up for a tougher task in knocking out the child prodigy Shabon. Although Cai's young foe packs a nasty punch with her physical, she has one small problem. She can't take hits. At all. A single Exablast should put her near death, and after that, a tap to the head from Cai's book should be more than enough to put her down, and put him a step closer to a Light title.

It is time for Shabon to shine once again. This little punchy little song-and-dance number will once more prove the power of children really shines through in the world Suikoden originates from. A barrage of fast, hard-hitting punches from this talented lass should put Cai down for the count within seconds. She has trained for this day - for the opportunity to to show the world just what little girls can do with training and a bit of music.

Nei eyed the tired looking young woman. She had a bow strapped to her back, and obviously supported Cai. She was a little surprised by the bet being mentioned...yet..

"Not only will Cai win, but he'll do it without so much as casting a single attack spell? And that you'll pay a year's salary if Cai doesn't win?"

Merriot smiled happily, and nodded. "Yep! And of course, if Cai wins.." the princess leaned over, and whispered in Nei's ear. "So you accept? Awesome!" Merriot quickly skipped off.

Cai couldn't believe his opponent. "A child.. I can't harm her." Instead, Cai opened up his book and sat down in the middle of the ring, reading. Shabon was not amused by this. "Pay attention to me!" Spell after spell was fired off at Cai. The only response Shabon got was a few muttered healing spells, and the turning of the pages in the book. Shabon stopped attacking after her attacks failed. Walking up to Cai, she spoke up. "What'cha reading?" Cai paused from his reading, and looked up. "A fairy tale, about an anicent creature of chaos. Go sit down in front of me, and I'll be glad to read the story to you." Unable to resist the lure of a good, new story, Shabon sat down... right outside of the ring.

Merriot laughed, and clapped her hands. She reached Nei, and stuck her hand out. "And now, to keep your part of the bet.."

Nei and Toppo stood in Cai's room, hauling various pieces of dirty laundry around. Cai sat on his bed, reading outloud to Shabon, who had taken a liking to the king during their match. Merriot stood, directly Toppo and Nei as they paid their half of the bet.

"Hehe. Nice to not have to do Cai's dirty work, for once."
