Season 21, Week 3
Red Wizard
(Final Fantasy)

Red Wizard and Cai may both dabble in both attack and healing magic, but that's where the similarties end. The Light Warrior prefers balance, ending up average at most everything ... while the King of Caerleon heavily favors punishing magic above all else. That plays to Red Wizard's biggest strength - of all the variety his use of White and Black magic gives him, the greatest is his access to the various Null spells, which can halve the power of any elemental magic Cai throws his way. With his variety of support spells to reduce Cai's elemental magic to scratches, Red Wizard can use his trademark Lightbringer to chip and slice away at the frail Cai for as long as it takes. That won't be long.

Two spellcasters of high esteem and awesome hats meet on the battlefield. Although the two have different styles of combat, they are more alike than meets the eye. Both have studied and mastered their arts, and both have dabbled in the arts of healing to supplement their abilities. However, their fighting styles differ greatly. While Cai depends on a the combination of his deadly Exa-Blast and healing, the Red Wizard depends on status attacks and elemental defenses to claim his victories, both which play into Cai’s hands, since he resists status and can cast magic of any element. While Red Wizard is a worthy opponent of the Silent-Wise King, he'll bow to the greater mage in the end.

You know, this would have been a good match.

Both are evenly matched wizards with a lot of tricks. Red Wizard has more physical prowess, but not enough to matter terribly, whereas Cai has somewhat more damage. Red Wizard has more spell charges, though.

However, this match was cut short after a massive blast of whipped cream smashed into another nearby arena, and a massive glob of the frothy stuff fell on Red Wizard, blinding him for the crucial moment it took for him to be caught in a Exablast, unable to defend himself. He quickly fell.

So, two matches in one day were decided by whipped cream.

And yet, this isn't even the oddest event in the Duelling League's history. Go figure.
