The ability to tame beasts isn't the greatest asset in a duelling arena. What's left for Lieza? Some weak magic and even weaker skills with a whip and knife? That leaves Saleh an easy ride to the semifinals. Lieza's earth and status spells have to deal with Saleh's resistance, which is as high as you'd expect it to be on a veteran Sage. Lieza won't fare so well against the flurry of Elfires she'll be taking, both on Saleh's turns and as counterattacks. Saleh will be sure to strike his second blow for the honor of Fire Emblem prepromos this week.

Fighting without an entourage of loyal and loving monsters backing you up is tough. Still, Holn’s resident “witch” will once again manage just fine without her pets as she goes from tackling a ridiculously weak Valkyrie Profile mage to a beating down ridiculously weak Fire Emblem mage. Her strategy in the fight is simple: paralyze him with Hold Enemy to get by any annoying counters and then break him apart with a few Earthquakes. Plentiful healing will handle his pathetic damage just fine, and the match won't take the years it would to see a critical come off.
