There’s nothing Karyl loves more than to play a beautiful tune for a beautiful lady…but this time he’ll have to settle for the Wyvern Rider Vaida. No matter! A master musician cares not who he plays for - soldier, kings, and jesters alike may listen, nor the setting in which he performs, be it the Arena, a swamp or a pub. Only for the love of the music does Karyl perform. The magic of Karyl’s Golden Voice will render Vaida speechless, or perhaps just unconscious, and his Rumba will be oddly paralyzing to her massive mount. And if the magic voice doesn’t immediately take down the slow as molasses Vaida, Karyl’s plentiful healing will give him the time to wait for the crashing crescendo, and strum a fitting finale for the scarred soldieress.

This is insulting. First the great Vaida is pit against some mere schoolteacher, and now she has to fight a bard? A bard!? What is he even doing here? Everyone knows that bards can’t actually attack! The best they can do is make someone else attack more! Of course, Vaida didn’t get where she is today by underestimating her opponents. Perhaps this bard has found a way to actually fight, and has done well enough to make it past the first round. But no matter what paltry fighting ability he may possess, it will not be equal to Vaida’s own. A few thrown Spears to counter whatever magic he attempts, or but a single well placed blow from a Killer Lance and the world will be short one more bard, while Vaida goes hunting for a real fight.

Vaida knew a bard's true weakness.
For all his evasiveness, his speed, his mobility, he had one major weakness.
He couldn't fight back! At all!

"...oh god, she didn't read up." Duessel said, as she watched Vaida give up both the initiative and any form of hope she had for winning the match, as she got off her Dragon to laugh in Karyl's face, only to get bashed into a now-angry dragon by Golden Voice. "It's just bards in our worlds that suck..."
Later, Vaida got loudly drunk and proceeded to hit on Arnaud. All things considered, the fact that she managed to leave the bar with all limbs still attached was doing pretty good, considering.
