Season 43, Week 2
Edward Damcyan
(Final Fantasy IV)

The legend of the Spoony Bard is truly one to behold. The prince of Damycan and harpist extraordinaire- Edward has every reason to be happy. He's back in the Dueling League, crowded with loving fans, facing an opponent even he can handle with ease, and no Tellah in sight! Edward, however, the pathetic bard that he is, is devoid of all emotion that pertain with anything but sadness... Poor guy, still hasn't gotten over his one love's death. Maybe a win would do well to cheer him up, and his first opponent is sure to provide him that win, no worries. With his powerful status-inducing harps, Raja will easily fall to the elegant bard's masterful musical charm! The Dezolisian priest has yet to obtain a win, and there's no reason to break the habit now. Of course, even this win may be for naught if he just goes back to moaning about his beloved Anna...

The light-hearted Dezorian high priest has had such bad luck in his arena outings that he's gotten used to making awful jokes out of them - hey, it makes for good drinking nights! However, this is all about to change! For Raja is facing someone so terribly inept at fighting that the cleric has nothing else he can do but laugh his heart out. Edward, the prince of Damcyan, is well-known for his horrible fighting prowess and tendency to hide from anything resembling danger, which suits Raja's furious cane beatings just fine. Raja can also show off his incredibly powerful healing abilities if the spoony bard decides to fight for his life - and, considering Edward's build, even that would be just for adding insult to injury. Having nothing to fear, Raja can lift his head high and face his newest challenge, as, for once, the joke is not on him, but his opponent!

DragonKnight Zero
Haven't played FF4 Advance so I'm going by the original release.

Sissy damage vs sissy damage. Oh wait, one cast of Blessing turns Edward's damage into tickles and Seals disables his singing. From then on, it's a long cane beating to a finish. Raja's high Mental stat makes it unlikely that he'll be afflicted with a status. Could it get any more pathetic?

Actually it does but I'll get to that in a moment. The sole judge was Garbie Celesta, selected as he/she was the only being available that could actually stay awake for the entire duel. The only spectators were Tellah and Rika.

After a seemingly endless cane beating (extended because of a lucky break where Edward managed to successfully confuse Raja and have Raja heal him before breaking free), Raja has an inspiration. After a cast of Rimit Raja took aim at the paralyzed Edward and clubbed him right in the manhood knocking him out.

No, it doesn't quite end there. Edward got up at the count of 9 and proceeded to Hide.

Outside of the arena and thus losing by ring-out. Tellah would have laughed loudly except he had fallen asleep before then. He was sorry to have missed Raja's final blow.

The ruling body voted not to disqualify Raja. He would have won eventually and they wanted the arena clear for future matches.
