A young unassuming human lad? What a perfect scratching post for the mystic Slash to sharpen his claws on before more challenging Light matches. Granted, Thomas is normally a competent enough fighter due to his excess of evasion, but Slash has several backup spells like Wind Slash that should blow right past Thomas’s evasion. Throw in Slash’s excellent HP and speed, not to mention the Tenkai star’s own middling damage and questionable durability beyond evasion, and Slash should soon find himself one step closer to the championship.

Thomas's careful swordsmanship? Good enough to beat a former Light finalist. Now it's going to be put to against a demon who was Crono's match in speed and power. Thomas has next to no hope to win without evasion and careful strikes, but that's not unusual in Light. The Tenkai star has to fight defensively and wear down Slash, as his margin of error is small. Sounds tough, but Thomas's entire fighting style is based around defensive combat and outlasting stronger, faster fighters who don't have his accuracy or excellent evasion.

A young lord against a demonic swordsman.
Truly a battle of legendary elegance.
Thomas, dodging, blocking, taking blows on the chin and giving back as good as he got.
Slash, a master of grace, durability and speed, if not power.
Thomas, striking down his opponent with the very last of his strength.
Slash pulling out a sword and stabbing Thomas in the face.
...
Oh, right, two forms. That sucks, doesn't it, Thomas?
Slash: 43
Thomas: 22
