Season 54, Week 2
Seth
(Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)

The general from Renais takes a stand in the arena once more. In his life, he has seen many things and fought a great deal of foes. Monsters, demon kings, rebellious subjects, even massive spiders. His foe here in the arena is, in comparison, far less impressive. Be it hail, or ice storms, or whatever else the enemy can throw at him, Seth will plunge forward. His spear will be the shining lance to pierce the darkness and pave the way to the future! For his liege, who presides in Godlike, and for all other soldiers who look towards him as a paragon of exemplary service, Seth will defeat the foe before him with crushing counters and damage.

Hmph. A natural-born leader against a humble servant. In the Junkyard, those demons saw how well that did for them. And when you have a flesh-eating soldier against a mere human, the results can't be any better. Serph is about to show why sending him to Light was a mistake. Against Seth, Serph has all the right tools: Bufudyne is perfect for avoiding the paladin's counter attacks, and the demon has excellent durability to handle Seth's flimsy slashes. Meanwhile, Seth himself has no defense against Serph's magic and he certainly isn't protected from anthropophagy. If nothing else, the fear of being devoured should keep this soldier at bay.

Seth had fought demons before, so he figured he was in pretty good shape. After all, Serph was in Light, so how strong could he really be?

What Seth failed to take into account was that he was also ranked in Light. So it's entirely possible that the answer is 'strong enough'.

At least he can take some solace in the fact that less then fifteen seconds after the fight was over, Serph was splattered all over the arena by an angry Eirika.

The rest of the Embryon thought that she overreacted there. Old habits die hard, afterall. And Seth was only a *little* devoured...
