Season 19, Week 3
Alanis
(Suikoden III)

Alanis, the widely ridiculed mage from Suikoden III, has proven herself worthy by getting a win in the DL (and before her boyfriend did too! Girl power!) Although she’s completely pumped and satisfied to have won a single match, she still has to go on and try for another! Chisato is quite a bit tougher than her last opponent, meaning Alanis will have to plan things well if she wants to win this one. Sadly, she doesn’t have much to work with. She can hit Chisato with fire magic, pray physicals don’t kill her, and then cast more fire magic. It’s a simple strategy, but it should work if Alanis can dodge a couple of attacks…

The BtS entourage cheers for Chisato after her first victory! And she's determined to break every single boundary of political correctness in her run through Light - first she busted the brittle bones of the poor old lady Hellion, and now she's about to cave in the face of a poor child - even worse, a Suikoscrub child. Alanis may have a Fire Rune, but the burns she'll inflict on Chisato are nothing on the bruises, hematomas and overall abuse Miss Madison can inflict. A Rising Dragon spree will make short work of the little kid. Not even the power of juridical prejudice can stop journalist love!

Chisato handled this battle the most tactful way she knew how.

Before the battle started, she walked over to Alanis, and sweetly started trying to talk her out of fighting.

Alanis, determined to win, refused.

At which point, Chisato just showed her a picture of Elliot hanging head-first over a vat of acid, and smiled.

Alanis never showed up for the match, Chisato was in the studio well within time for filming, and everyone was happy.

...Well, except Elliot, who has horrible nightmares about Odin and Gilgamesh talking to him while he was held hostage...
