Season 23, Week 3
Laguna Loire
(Final Fantasy VIII)

Superiority complex? Not check. Badass duelling moves? Not check. Fancy Armor? Check. Cool theme to fight to, if all else fails? Check. Okay, Laguna might not be the fiercest of fighters, but he does have the general badassitude of "Man with a Machine Gun" to play while he duels with Artur. Moreover, desperado is still a dangerous limit, all things considered.. and Artur's physical durability and damage is bad enough to make Desperado a very real threat to finish the match, at any time.

Monk Artur is well on his way to following his not-so-manly predecessor's success in Light, having defeated the mentally deficient Ard in a close battle last week. Now, it's time to face perhaps a foe in a different vein, if no more challenging than his last. Laguna's a far weaker foe than Ard was - frailer and, despite toting a machinegun, far less menacing. It'll be easy for Artur to dispatch his foe with a bit of Shine, and no amount of techno theme music will stop him in his quest for a title

Artur controls the match with Lightning, Shine and Divine, and bypasses Laguna's Limit Break. Or in the worse case scenario, he gets off one. That's not killing Artur when he has a damage lead from the start.
