Season 25, Week 1
Louise
(Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword)

Starting off her career in the DL with what should prove to be one of the most memorable (or at least ironic) matches of the season, Louise faces off against the divine archer Janus. Not that Louise is all that worried about facing one of the gods' chosen warriors - after all godslaying is a weekly occurance in the halls of the Duelling League. If one of his arrows hits home, Janus' power and poison could pack a punch, but you can't damage what you can't hit, and Louise's agility and nimble frame should allow her to bob, weave and counterattack her way to the next round.

Asgard's finest bowman next to Lenneth Valkyrie herself takes to the battlefield once again, and faces a far less talented opponent. While also an archer, Louise is a mere mortal - no challenge for the divine Creil Mercenary. Easily hardier and more powerful, Janus can play this fight like he would any other: fire off some poison-tipped arrows to throw his foe off-balance, then prepare for a Guilty Break to...well, break his guilty opponent. Louise may be fairly limber and a decent archer in her own world, but when you're facing off against a god, "decent" just doesn't cut it.

Louise makes Athos laugh. Janus gets beaten up in a bar fight, after returning to town seeking praise from his father which he never got. If you really want to get ahead, you need confidence; Janus loses the fight psychologically before he even steps on the battlefield.
