Season 33, Week 2
Chiepoo
(Suikoden IV)

I want chicken I want liver, Meow Mix Meow Mix Please Deliver! In the name of cats scorned everywhere, the almighty cat-kobold-champion Chiepoo shall deliver a truly fantastic feline fantasy of victory! He's faster, stronger, and much more resilient than the weak mage Katarina also of Suiko4 fame, so there will be no challenging his coming domination! Two swipes of Chiepoo's claws will cut Katarina apart, and her pathetic Lightning Rune and Water Rune will be of no use. Even if Katarina should manage to land a spell, Chiepoo's nine lives haven't given out yet, so Katarina will have to cut through eight more! It's time to show the DL that Light belongs to the cats - the true masters of the universe. Just ask Schroedinger!

Chiepoo has nothing. Bone dry nothing. Katarina can shoot lightning at him and heal at her leisure thanks to those two pretty runes of Lightning and Water. Game over, kitty-cat, game over!. Hell, if it comes down to it she can chase him around the arena dropping water on him to make him run around (with Benny Hill music playing if he steals her underpants) and then chase him out of the arena by filling it up with water completely, or something like that. Then she can be left there all wet (and possibly with no underpants) which is bound to bring in more ticket sales for the next week's match. Yesssssss, victory will belong to this beautiful, dashing and powerful Vice-Commander and all-around awesome fighter!

Friends fighting friends can cause many problems.

Even if they're willing to compete in a friendly event-as often is the case-there are still some unfair advantages, such as knowing each other well.

Chiepoo had brought with him the world's largest rat. (He paid Champo quite a bit to get it caught, but it was going to be worth it.)

Katarina, as Chiepoo had knew she would, shrieked in horror.

Predictably, Katarina hates rats. As Chiepoo knew well. Friends know each other's weaknesses. Or can guess well, at any rate.

Life's not fair, is it?

Well, Chiepoo agreed, as Katarina, in standard mage reflex, nuked both him and a rat with a Furious Blow.

This is why guessing is bad.

Chiepoo didn't really get down about the whole thing, though. He managed to sell the rat back, nicely crisped, for about three times the exorbatent price he'd paid for it, to Champo. He didn't really expect to win anyways. But it had been worth a shot.
