Season 48, Week 3
Melody Vilente
(Wild Arms 3)

Well, as insulting as fighting a mutt was, it didn't take a whole lot of effort. Now Melody can go back to more competent foes. And lo and behold, Titania might actually be worthy of Melody's might! Sure, she's just another Fire Emblem paladin, but she has a bit of a good reputation, and she is at least not entirely ugly, which the Prophet approves of. However, that all fails to matter: Melody has the upper edge in this fight. While she can avoid Titania's melee counters with her magic, the Paladin still has to deal with Melody's own Poison counters, and getting past the Prophet's barrier will be problematic in its own right. The superior beauty will prevail!

After defeating someone last week who sat behind damage reduction and tried to counter her to death, Titania faces someone who... sits behind damage reduction and tries to counter her to death. Okay. The counterattack-related irony wasn't funny the first time, and it isn't funny now. Titania has no resistance to the poison status Melody is so fond of, so she'll just have to brave those counters and hit the prophet as hard as she can with her Silver Axe. While Melody is more dangerous (though less amusing) than the Brionac strategist, she will still meet the same fate, as Titania again shows the DL why modern Fire Emblem axe-wielders are a thing to be feared.

Gatewalker
"Villainous witch!"

"Muscle-bound she-man!"

"Shallow harlot!"

"Thuggish cavewoman!"

From his vantage point at the judges table, Justin simply remained very, very quiet. He might be dumb, sure. But even he was smart enough not to get in the middle of what was looking to end up as a nasty catfight.

"Narcissistic harpy!"

"Horseloving harridan!"

"Self absorbed slut!"

"..."

Titania smirked, "What's that, run out of clever insults? Did I hit too close to home there?"

Melody just smiled, "Oh no, I just can't decide weather I want to accuse you of robbing the cradle or the grave."

The paladin's face turned red with rage, "You wretched BITCH! How DARE you!?"

Now it was Melody's turn to smirk. There was really no chance that Titiania was going to be able to out-insult her, and it was oh so satisfying to see that stuck up paladin shocked into a frothing rage.

Of course there was one small mistake with Melody's plan.

And that was when Titiania hit her in the face with an axe really hard.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Eternal good looks, intelligence and a sharp tongue are all good ways to get ahead in life. But it's hard to argue with an axe to the face.
