Season 20, Week 1
Ryudo
(Grandia 2)

The impetuous young Geohound is back for yet another shot at arena stardom. Ready to cast off his shaky record, he faces off against the tribal-girl-turned-adventurer Aila. And if this frail mage, ready to be cut apart by a few Tenseikens, is the kind of competition he'll face this season, then his combination of physical skills and durability, give Ryudo a great chance of skipping his way to a Middle Championship. Of course, given his infamous track record with girls who "just happen" to cross his path, this could very well be as much a stumbling block as a stepping stone.

Thanks to Geddoe's training, Aila is more than able to deal with a typical swordsman, mainly by using her range and magic to stay away, ending the battle before her opponent can even get in melee range. And while Ryudo can manage a few more tricks than the average grunt, so can Aila. In particular, her ability to heal, which Ryudo can only dream of, gives Aila more than enough chances to chip away with Earthquake and arrow shots. She might have to eat some damage from his techniques in the process, but Aila's Shield Rune gives her the gas to put a winning play into effect.

AAA
Poor Aila. Just got in and immediately gets Ryudo for a draw. Well, it's pretty clear. Even if Ryudo's shots of Sky Dragon Slash don't off Aila(and that's a pretty big if), he can shrug off any of her attacks and Deal punishing damage in turn.

Such is the fate of Suikdoen characters that stray out of Middle and Light, I guess.

Ryudo: 43
Aila: 20
