Having already busted up two far more versatile duellers this season, a pure offensive mage like Vivi is going to be a piece of cake for this Geohound. The black mage’s status spells are hardly reputed for impressive accuracy, and his arcane arts are no stronger than Ryudo’s mighty Sky Dragon Slash. And in the end, Ryudo holds a critical advantage; he, unlike his magician foe, is not a complete and utter slug. With his quick wits and quicker footwork, Rydo’s flying as high as Skye as he prepares for this crucial match. After all, his place in the Middle finals is practically set in stone. |

It's a blast from the past for Vivi this round as he faces yet another Grandia main in the semifinals. Fortunately, he's much better prepared to deal with Ryudo than he was with Justin. The Geohound has no protection from Vivi's Death magic and - unlike a certain spastic adventurer - has no Instant Death of his own. It's a simple fight, which calls for a simple plan. If Ryudo attempts to silence with his saber, Vivi fires off a Flare. Otherwise, Water healing is just as effective here as it was against Blanca, and not even the frail black mage fears a basic physical from Ryudo. How long will it take these guys to learn that a sword is no match for a finely honed mind? |
Adumbro Deus Vivi is powerful certainly, but not enough staying power, especially against Ryudo's physical attacks, especially since Ryudo will have far more hp comparitively and their ratio of magic to magic defense and defense to magic attack (Vivi and Ryudo's stats for both comparisons in that order), Vivi just won't stick around long enough.
