"Robbery:" it's a term that gets thrown around lightly much too often. But it's The term's never been more accurate than in the sad case of Max. Barely outmuscled by Neifirst, he somehow lost to Ryudo and others in a pool, eating a downgrade. The greatest of the Shining Force duellers can't and won't be held down by the feeble ranks of middle. Supernova and Chaos Breaker stand ready to destroy whatever and whoever stands in this hero's way. Elaine may be a decent fighter in her own right, but nothing will save her from the merciless assault from the man who brought down Runefaust with his bare hands.

It's not easy being the only woman surrounded by a bunch of men. So Elaine's got some aggression to work off. This match will certainly help her burn it off; if nothing else she can let off some steam smacking her generic-hero opponent around. Whether she decides to take him on in a long swordfight, using her Water Rune to heal wounds when needed, or simply demolish him with an Explosion from her Fire Rune, her opponent can't keep up, since all he has is pure brawn. Much like some of the men Elaine knows, in fact. Elaine will certainly be relaxed and ready for a more challenging battle after this warm-up.

An interesting natural phenomenon occured the other day, during the match between Max and Elaine.
You see, it's a simple biological principle that there are four basic types of people.
The first and most common type is the "Background" person. Background people lead normal, everyday lives, and are generally considered the worker class of people. They keep the world running, but when the collective is threatened, they are essentially useless.
The next type of person is the "Influential" person. These people tend to have stronger than average physical characteristics, and their genetics cause them to have loftier goals and dreams than just the mere "Background" person. In times of great crisis, these people are naturally drawn to find one another, so that they may team up to fix whatever the problem is. Generally, they travel in packs of three or four, and sometimes even five.
The third type of person is the "Soldier". Soldiers are a result of interbreeding between the Background and Influential categories of people. Your basic Soldier can have anywhere from the grand, fully developed personality and physical attributes of the basic Influential type, to the bland, highly underdeveloped body and social skills of the Background type. Just the same, when the human colony is threatened, Soldiers will flock in drones to the fourth type.
The fourth type is known as the "Hero" type. They are blessed with attributes that far exceed those of any common Background, Soldier, or even Influential types. More importantly, when the human colony is threatened, Hero types release a powerful pheromonal agent, which acts as a beacon to Influential and Soldier types, which then flock to the Hero in droves.
Anyhow, Max, for his part, is one of the special "Hero" types, and Elaine, despite her multiple runes and sassy attitude, is basically a "Soldier" type. Now, the really interesting part, is that Max became so distraught over his downgrade to the Middle Division, in his mind, he perceived it as a powerful threat to himself, and by proxy, the entire human collective. Unknown to Max and to Elaine, he was flooding her senses with his powerful pheromones. Instincts kicked in, and Elaine was powerless to stop her natural human biology. She was programmed to help stop this great threat to the human collective, and decided that the best way to get Max out of Middle was to throw her match. Joining Max's party, of course, came later.
Max, for his part, is still unaware of the natural defense mechanisms at work, but as his faithful servant Elaine began to spread the word about his great quest, he slowly began to amass an army of drones. Loyal soldiers in tow, Max eyeballed his next obstacle.....
Max: 60
Elaine: 24
