Season 32, Week 3
Marisa
(Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)

One stroke, one enemy. This is the rule that Marisa has always lived by, and it has served her well. It’s a rule that her opponent can respect as well, being a fellow mercenary, even if he does prefer to slug it out with many weak, but draining, blows of his Night Sword. Well, she has nothing personal against Gafgarion, but she won’t allow this fight to drag out the way he likes it. Even though his Night Sword gets around the graceful swordmistress’ excellent evasion, the dark knight is still susceptible to Marisa’s devastating Shamshir criticals, which land with alarming frequency. Gafgarion isn’t the most durable mercenary around either, so all it should take is a single critical paired with a normal strike to end things. Good thing she easily outstrips him in speed, too, hmmm?

There's nothing like a battle to the death with a fellow mercenary to get an old veteran's blood going. The rougish Dark Knight from Ivalice faces off against this strange swordswoman from another land, and, if nothing else, the battle should be stylish. Gafgarion's Night Swords will cast a pall over the arena, while Marisa's dancing blades of light shall lift it. In the end, darkness will come out on top. With first strike and excellent physical durability, Gafgarion's just the type of warrior who can withstand the Swordmaster's strikes. Hitting Marisa's horrible physical defense with perfect accuracy Night Swords to replenish his energy won't hurt, either. In the end, this brutal battle will end with the experience of years and the power of the night winning out over youthful exuberance.

Five lightning speed slashes.

And it was truly over.

"...STOP LAUGHING!" Gafgarion bellowed, as he desperately tried to keep his armor on.

"Why should they? Being beaten to a pulp while naked is one of your biggest signatures, isn't it?" Marisa said, smirking, as she leveled her sword at him.

Gafgarion, red-faced, simply ran out of the arena.
