Season 32, Week 5
Marisa
(Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)

After taking down some of Middle’s best, Marisa has at last arrived at the finals. Now she’s only a few sword strokes away from a championship and an upgrade to Heavy. But first, there’s a rather large demon problem to take care of, and it looks to be a whopper. Thankfully, Marisa is no stranger to fighting demons, especially relatively simple ones like the Quarter Knight, so she knows what to expect from him. Belselk’s game is simple: smash, smash and smash some more, which plays right to Marisa's strengths of incredible evasion and consistent counters, giving her more chances to land a fatal critical strike. Belselk may be powerful, but all the power in the world won’t help you if you can’t hit what you’re aiming at. All Marisa has to do is keep a cool head and keep up the pressure, and she’ll be walking away with a Middle title.

Berserk's opponents this season have been tough, but in this Middle final he faces his biggest threat thus far this Middle season. Fast, strong, deadly; Marisa encompasses all of these ideals into a graceful and powerful warrior. But really, just look at Berserk. After an average girl spellcaster, a pharmacist, and the King of the Wolves, a female Swordmaster is par for the course - that is to say, completely and utterly pathetic, especially for his biggest threat yet! His thick skinned durability will thwart most of Marisa's offense, and Berserk Breaker will be sure to stop her in her tracks. And utterly demolish her remains. So tremble in fear, puny humans. This Metal Demon is gunning for his rightful Middle Championship. He is large, in charge, and refuses to be teleported out of the Arena until he has achieved victory!

"It's a ranged weapon!" "It's a bludgeon! Those are axes! Look at hammers!" "You idiots, axes can't hit multiple targets! It's blunt! It's clearly a staff!" "What!?"

Marisa and Belselk calmly listened to the judges argue.

"What in the hell are they talking about?" Belselk asked reasonably.

"I...think they're trying to figure out if you have weapon triangle advantage against me." Marisa said, watching the judges quibble.

"Mmmm. Does that really matter?" "No. Not even close." "Are they going to hold up the match with it hours?" "Probably, yes." Marisa sighed.

"Are we going to have to kill them?" Belselk asked, smiling slightly? "Afraid so." Marisa agreed. "Tell you what. The one that kills the most, wins the match."

"Hmhmhm. You know I'm not limited to fighting just one poor fool with this, don't you?" Belselk said, hefting his hammer and grinning. "Of course. You'll have an unfair advantage. Like you had when the match started." Marisa smiled. "I know when I'm beaten. I don't mind, if it's in a good cause."

"No, it's unevadable! Clearly it's a form of dragonbreath!" "Huh?" "What?" "You idiot!" "You're disgracing SeeD, all of you!" "What? Cool off, Squall! Besides, he's clearly a demon, it's a monster weapon!" "Can't we all just go look at some trains instead of arguing over this?"

Marisa and Belselk smiled at each other, and got down to buisiness.
