Season 4, Week 3
Izlude Tingel
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

While his enemy has some powerful magic, Izlude is no slouch himself. His innate immunities to status are debatable by some: He may have to watch out for Dagger's Mini, or may not, depending on how the judges rule. However, one thing remains certain: His opponent better end the battle fast, for if she doesn't, she'll find that her MPs gone in a twinkling due to Izlude's Magic Break ability, which removes half of the foe's MPs. In addition, Izlude can blast his opponent's speed using Speed Break...and a slow white mage/summoner physically attacking a knight who has a counter attack is a sad thing indeed.

Garnet's facing another swordsman this week, and unlike Kyle, Izlude Tingel is not a man to be taken lightly. Garnet can't rely on Odin or her various other status attacks for a quick win against Izlude, and she doesn't outspeed him the way she outsped Kyle. Garnet has to win this match fairly quickly. Izlude can employ magic breaks to quickly drain her MP, and his evasion ignoring attacks will make short work of the frail princess. Bahamut is nothing to sneeze at, and not many in middle can take more than a few castings of that mighty summon.

Garnet started out the battle by casting Odin. Sorta.

In the locker room, she had accidentally picked up Viki's staff by mistake. So when she tried to summon Odin, she actually summoned PS1 Odin.

Needless to say, that would not have been so effective if Odin hadn't appeared right over Izlude, and smashed him into unconsciousness by landing on his head.

"I wonder what would've happened if I'd summoned Ark..." Garnet wondered as she was proclaimed the winner.

Garnet til Alexandros: 12

A Final Fantasy character cannot be targeted while they're in the air from jumping. That includes spells. So Izlude just keeps on jumping on poor Garnet's head until she gets knocked out.
