There are very few villainous groups that strike more fear into the hearts of duelers than the fabled Wise Men. Indalecio? Cyril? Berle? These striking fellows are definitely not to be taken lightly, and inhabit Godlike for good reason. Of course, while those three bask in the highest Duelling League echelon, Vesper is one of the... less fortunate Wise Men, rotting in Middle. However, such insolence does not mean that Vesper is a negligible threat. While his damage may not be even passable, his Mind Absorb can rob hapless duellers of almost all their MP - a skill that should prove very useful against the spellslinging jamaican-like Cielo. Forced to use his puny physicals, there is no way for the Jamaican wonder to take down this Wiseman.

Hey 'mon! Get ready for a slammin' Caribbean party! It's time for the rest of the computerized demons to get into the ring and showcase their skills. And Cielo, fast and cunning, has very little to fear from the Wiseman Vesper. Really, a human-robot against a demon typically doesn't end well for the former. Vesper's offense is something for the record books - worst records, at least. He relies on pathetic status attacks and shoddy draining skills to defeat his foes, but none of this scares Cielo. His excellent agility and luck will allow him to dodge anything the Wiseman sends his way, and counter-strikes of Ziodyne will rend, slaughter and devour his opponent with little trouble. Not much else is needed to beat this "wise" man, really.

It's a match of surprises. The normally status weak Cielo just laughed and ate a bag of doritos when Vesper tried Mind Blaster. This would normally be enough to send Vesper to an unquestioned loss, but the wiseman wasn't about to lose to a bad stereotype.
Instead of his usual status or MP busting, Vesper did something far more effective. He sat down and calmly explained the entire Star Ocean plot. All of it.
Cielo's response was legendary. "So mon, there's the enire universe.. and it exists in one tiny computer.. and it's controlled by some evil tranny that makes no sense?"
Vesper only grinned in response, sure that this would shatter Cielo's mind.
"What is this garbage?! Someone stole from -our- universe!" Cielo, match forgotten, went to go get the rest of his castmates and beat up Luther for gimmick infringement.

Vesper was later heard to comment that he was relieved that Star Ocean writers weren't the only ones smoking something when they penned the main story.
Vesper: 32
Cielo: 19
