Season 43, Week 5
Tengaar
(Suikoden Series)

Hoo boy. After a full season of girl smackdowns, Tengaar finally reaches the Middle finals again, where she has to... school a pansy boy out of his geek impulses? Yup, that's a mighty challenge for a warrior lady, all right. Whipping down people with no more spine than Hix is going to do wonders for her fighting prowess, yessiree - ahem. Regardless, Tengaar has a job to do - specifically, beating up the pansy boy until he grows a pair. And, for that, she shall rely on the earth-shattering (pun intended) strength of her Earthquake spell. Hahn, being stereotypically frail, cannot handle the spell's power, and, with a noticeable speed edge, Tengaar can simply lock Hahn into a healing loop until she doubles and collects victory. His instant death techniques, not being too accurate, won't play much of a role here: a single physical will loop Hahn into a heal-lock, giving Tengaar the fight as soon as it begins. It's championship season for Tengaar! About time.

My, my, my, Hahn has come a long way, hasn't he? His scholarly ways and generally bright approach to life has gotten him to the Middle finals (along with some mystical death magic), and now he has to put in her place a lady who certainly didn't finish her Women's Studies class when she had the opportunity. While practically bleeding bravado about what being a modern woman is about can be fine and dandy, the scholar from Mile has more productive things to do - and so, this match will be simple and clean. While Tengaar has the speed edge at first, a single casting of Doran will turn her into an impossible slug, leaving her wide open to the threat of Eliminate - and anything else Tengaar does will just be a free moment to get this strategy going. She may have earthquakes, gimmicks and barriers, but, in the end, a clean throat-slitting maneuver will be all that gets the victory. Hahn shall teach Tengaar a lesson in true finesse.

Hahn had heard all about Tengaar's little contest against Alice, and he was going to have none of it. He deftly avoided the girl from the Warrior's Village all week, much to her frustration. She'd had the perfect contest to win over the schoolboy too! She didn't mind pounding his face in, but it felt much better to outwit people, as she discovered this season.

Much to Tengaar's disappointment, Hahn seemed to have his own little game. As she stepped out into the arena, she noticed him sitting behind a table, with two glasses sitting on it. She sat down carefully, wary of traps.

Hahn simply smiled. "Since you seem to enjoy playing games to win these matches, I decided to play one of my own. There are two glasses, one of them has a powerful poison in it. Choose which one you will drink. Care to try it out?"

Tengaar thought about it, then nodded.

"Excellent! Though I warn you, it's not advisable to go in against a Motavian when death is on the line."

Tengaar simply smirked and went into deep thought regarding her choice...

Yuri had enjoyed the match immensely, and insisted on throwing a party for Hahn after his win. Having to be embarassed by his contest with Hix didn't sit right with Yuri, so a win for Hahn was as good as a revenge in his book. But there was one thing that he needed tell Hahn.

"I'm actually rather impressed. You put the poison in your own glass. Takes guts to do that."

Hahn just smiled. "Oh, that? There was no poison. I just cast Vol under the table while she was distracted by drinking."

Yuri's eyes went wide. "Wow. Thats pretty underhanded."

Hahn kept the smile. "Hey, I DID warn her. Don't go in against a Motavian when death is on the line."
