A fire burns in Margulis's heart. His passion shall see Jin humiliated, Ziggy paid back, himself in a cool new giant mech, and U-TIC triumphant... oh yes, revenge will be his. More importantly for this match, a fire burns on his sword. Literally. Margulis's Shiva sword strikes are both Physical and Fire, and his Rakta Fire magic knocks his opponents to the ground to writhe in flames. Rumor has it that those Grass type Pokemon don't take well to that. Margulis can even heal himself with his shadow clones, trumping the sprout's weak attempts at Photosynthesis. Meganium's offense is only vaguely threatening during its Overgrowth phase at low health, which will easily be bypassed by a dramatic finishing Boost-combo. Yes, nothing can stop Margulis on his march to the finals, certainly not this flammable toy.

The Herb Pokémon is not the most aggresive of beasts, but what Pokémon doesn't love a friendly battle? Unlike the friendly and flighty space sidekick Meganium last faced however, Margulis is ruthless, offering no quarter and offended should it be granted. His mastery of various fiery sword arts is additionally of great concern to the Grass-typed Meganium, but that's not going to stop a good fight from happening! Even when striking a weakness, Margulis' assault is far from awe inspiring, and Meganium's Razor Leaf will punish him severely for attempting any Clone-based strategies. With Synthesis to fall back on, Reflect is sufficent to ward off Margulis' unassisted assault. In all, it's Meganium's match to lose, and losing to someone like Margulis is hardly the way a respectable Pokémon would live.

Monkeyfinger
Margulis started the battle with a weak sword strike that nevertheless hurt a little due to being coated in flame. Meganium growled in response.
Repeat 6 times.
With Margulis's sword techniques reduced to gentle, mildly warm pokes, Meganium got cocky and started to toy with Margulis, prancing around him and occasionally healing off minor wounds. "Mega! Mega!" Gloating over reducing a fire user's offense to nothing was great fun for it for a while, but eventually it got bored and decided to finish things. That's when Margulis used all his accumulated boost to knock Meganium down with a Rakta, then vaporize him with 3 more, faster than he could blink.
No one ever accused non-psychic pokemon of being smart.
Margulis: 34
Meganium: 12
