The physical perfection of Margulis's swordsmanship is beyond doubt. His fights have been more like executions, with his blade unerringly finding the mark with every single strike. But what else would you expect? Margulis is well beyond the nominal challenge that Middles can offer him. By example, what's left in his way but a little girl with a sword? The Falcon Style of Fencing is reliant on overwhelming an opponent with a quick rush, a tactic of no use against someone as tough as the Chief Inquisitor. Attacking a single target is all well and good, but what will Valeria do when Margulis clones himself and strikes at Valeria from all angles at once? Not much, as she'll be too dead to admire the superior talent that Margulis was blessed with. |

As General of the Toran Republic, Valeria is well acquainted with commanding personalities like Margulis. They often talk a big game, but the best strategy is to never be intimidated, a strength Valeria has in spades. While Valeria cannot take advantage of Margulis' myriad weaknesses, her Falcon Rune is offense enough for this battle, capable of felling the Chief Inquisitor in short order. Meanwhile, Margulis' own offense is strongly blunted by Valeria's impressive defense, her armor and shield fully capable of absorbing his assault or weathering a storm of cloning tactics. The key to victory is never letting the enemy see you flinch, and a seasoned warrior like Valeria is more than capable of withstanding everything Margulis can hope to throw at her. |

Margulis's Rakta skill seared Valeria to the bone, Valeria's Falcon Rune cut Margulis to bloody ribbons from head to toe.A battle against such evenly matched foes unshockingly went to the wire. Both were near death, ready for one last pass. Only one had a full combo bar ready. Only one had clones to call on.
