With a berth in the finals and possible upgrade in sight, the normally laid-back Dezolician Esper Rune Walsh is sure to give it his all in this week's match against General Leo. With a Phantasm Robe, Rune holds the speed advantage in this match, and with his shields he has all the defence needed to last for at least a little while against the military man from Vector. At that point, all Rune needs to do is blast his opponent with the instant death of Negatis or Diem, against which Leo's much-touted MBlock stat is of questionable use at best. Can Rune hold up his part in an attempt to create an all-Phantasy Star IV final?

Ah, General Leo, notable in game for only being in one real battle. While impressive in that battle, it's hard to really understand how truly good he is, since it's just one, rather easy, battle. With Leo's high MBlock, Rune's going to find it nearly impossible to hit Leo with his instant death attacks. With Leo's powerful Offering/Atlas Armlet physical attack, Rune's going to have a hard time staying alive more than a few rounds. And, finally, with his magic defense, he can take a Legeon and keep swinging. This is going to be a hard battle indeed for a certain wizard...
