Season 49, Week 1
Darc
(Arc the Lad 4)

Darc's anger issues are well known by most, as is his complete lack of respect for, and in, the Dueling League proper. He downgrades to a miserable status in Middle while his worthless brother succeeds in Heavy? WRONG. No longer shall this be tolerated, for Darc's about to awaken his inner beast. A couple of ice coatings on his blade will give Sword of Awakening a terrible elemental punch, striking at Ahihiko's crippling weakness. One blow will cripple this school boy, leaving the Demios's hero victorious.

Hey, who let shadows into the arena? Oh, you say that’s just a Deimos? Well, Akihiko’s fists are primed to take down the ugly brute no matter what he is. Since Darc doesn’t have the Ice magic that Akihiko fears, the boxing master can take the match slowly and let Darc deplete his very scant Spirit Stones while Aki relies on his deep well of healing. Given the Deimos’ inability to keep up any sort of damage over the long haul, Akihiko and Caesar should barely have to break a warmup sweat in the first round.

Captain Falcon
Darc has never fought a Persona user before. Or at least, not one who carries around a dangerous looking gun beside his belt. So, he decided to take a page from a certain famous hero he's heard about - what was his name again? Tink? Link? Regardless, he knew what he was going to do. Instead of engaging what could be a potentially deadly brawl, he was just going to push this dueller out of the ring with his wind magic. Unfortunately for him, Akihiko's heard about this hero as well. No thanks to a certain Junpei Iori pestering him and the rest of his dorm mates to play a certain game. And as soon as Akihiko saw Darc's strategy, he knew what he was going to do.

As the two contestants entered the ring, Akihiko wasted no time, quickly taunting Darc and asking him to show off his moves. Provoked, Darc put his plan into motion. The first set of gusts were meant to push him away, but a jump into the air as the wind came blowing towards him sent it sailing harmlessly under his feet. By reflex, Darc decided to reverse the direction of the wind to pull Akihiko out of the ring the other way, thinking that would catch him off guard. Except the high school boxer was ever one step ahead of him. Putting all his energy into his fist, Akihiko did a spin and let the now on-coming wind boost the distance of his attack - right into Darc's face.

"FALCON PAAAAAAAAAAWNCH"

Both fighters were ringed out. But since Akihiko had managed to hit Darc with one of the strongest attacks known to man, he was declared the winner as Darc sailed out of the arena before he did.

"YES! Everything went according to plan!"
