Season 57, Week 3
Long Chan Chan
(Suikoden II)

To master the martial arts is to know both patience, and the perfect moment to strike. Both of these will prove vital against the vile mercenary Gaff Gafgarion, even moreso than any other of LC Chan's worthy opponents. Although, given Gaff's slimy reputation, his worthiness could be highly disputed. Traitors aren't seen with kind eyes anywhere, let alone among the Stars of Destiny. But we digress. After all, the sellsword's Night Sword skill will make him hard to defeat in a long battle, but with his White Tiger Rune in reserve, LC Chan needs to merely wait for a well-placed critical strike, and then finishing the battle in one quick blow should be but a breeze.

While the unassuming and aging mercenary Gaff Gafgarion may not be the obvious favorite against the spry and training-obsessed LC Chan, you don’t live to be an aging mercenary without a trick or two up your sleeve. And what a trick Gafgarion has! Night Sword lets him solely wear his opponent down all the while wiping away LC Chan’s mediocre attacks thanks to handy parasitic healing. While the monk’s durability and speed will annoy Gaff a bit, after living through so many battles and wars, the mercenary is determined to win this fight and earn a Middle belt, letting him cash in on those lucrative championship endorsement deals!

To give their drinking skills a moment to shine
But L.C. Chan did not think
As he started to drink
That old Gaffy would poison his wine
