Cristo's had a lucky run, going up against three physical warriors. And he's had a single solution for each of them: Upper. But now he's going up against a mage, so there's no way he can stop the force of her mighty magic... except for Stopspell, of course. The instant that it hits Nina, Wyndian princess becomes a pure physical fighter utterly screwed by the Chancellor's insane defense. All Cristo has to do is keep at it long enough for Stopspell to take effect, and the warrior-mage will be trading in his big green hat for a big gold one - with the word Champion on it, of course.

Nina and Cristo share quite a few traits. Both are reliable healers for their repective teams, and both share a simliar fighting style in the way they outlast opponents. Of course, Nina's tactics are a bit different than those of her priestly foe. With Inspire to boost her damage, and lovely speed and healing at her back, she's no sort of slouch. The only thing worrying Nina in this match is that she doesn't have all the time in the world to put her tactics to full use; if Cristo hits with either Stopspell or Beat, she's one dead Wyndian. She'll be using a Skull Rod instead of her normal wind magic, in the hopes of statusing out Cristo before she's silenced. Whichever tactic she chooses, the Princess's goal will be the same: to triumph over the tanky Chancellor and blast her way to a Championship!
Meeplelard Nina has good defenses, high speed, a form of instant death, and can heal.
Cristo has great defenses, reasonable speed, more reliable instant death, and just as much healing.
Both lack damage.
Seems fair, right? Well, no, see, Nina happens to be immune to Cristo's instant death, meanwhile, Cristo, for as unreliable as Nina's is, can't defend against Nina's Instant Death in anyawy. As high defenses as the Uppered Chancellor of Santeem's are, they do nothing when your enemy has a weapon that causes Instant Death, thus causing a fight that should last years to end in a reasonable time frame, making the crowd happy.
