Season 13, Week 5
Rune Walsh
(Phantasy Star 4)

he alpha and omega of Middle mages has barely broken a sweat during his dominating performance this season. From dealing with outside distractions, to crushing the doubters who put him in Middle in the first place, Rune Walsh has had his way with anyone presumptuous enogh to cross him. Three opponents all fell to his powerful Negatis attack, and Karsh has no more defense against Instant Death than Walsh's previous foes. Once the axe wielding foe is shown the might of Rune's Legeons of spells, it should be abundantly clear to all who really deserves the Middle championship.

Karsh, the sole survivor of the Chrono Cross invasion, has done what no other member of his cast has been able to do: make it to the finals. Yes everyone, we have a Chrono Cross cast member in the RPGDL Middle Finals. Has the world finally gone mad? Maybe, but Karsh is ready to prove to us all that madness might actually be a benefit in some circumstances. With his mighty axe in hand, Karsh stands ready to cleave the opposing magus in two, which, given Rune's definite wizardly durability, shouldn't be too hard a task. Karsh has decimated the rest of Middle this season, and Chrono Cross is poised to take home the crown!

Magic User
Karsh was in a good mood. After all he was the only remnant of the Chrono Cross invasion. Not to mention he made it to the finals! That was quite a way to (somewhat) wash the Chrono Cross name. Nothing could ruin that day.

The time came, where he would enter the arena and give that thin guy a beating he'd never forget. Hah.

Both contestants were on the Arena. Karsh simply ran, ready to hit Rune really hard with his axe. However Rune killed him really hard with a casting of Negatis.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Hitting people really hard is a way of getting ahead in life, but it's hard to argue with a death spell in the heart.

Rune Walsh: 34
Karsh: 16

The Axeman
Rune Walsh barely got to the arena on time, such was the sheer thickness of his legions of fans. He quite literally had to force his way past the mountains of women that wanted his autograph --at least.

When he got into the arena, Karsh stood at the other end, staring him down. Rune took one look at Karsh's weapon and sighed. "Really now, Karsh," he began. "Do something to cover your bases. I was hoping that my final bout would be one worthy of my time, yet here you stand, not even an ounce of preperation. Try to wrap your head around this concept: I am a mage. Believe me, there's lots of precautions you could have taken beforehand to strengthen your chances."

Karsh shrugged.

"Ah, well," Rune went on. "I'm sure it's just a curtesy on your part. Like everyone else, you probably want to see me immediately run through Heavy after I upgrade this season."

Rune casually raised his hand, and fanned out his delicate fingers. He began slow movements that were as steady as a surgeon, and intricate as a concert pianist. "Goodbye, Karsh."

Karsh hit him in the face with an axe really hard.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Legions of fans, massive self-confidence, and strong preperation are some ways to get ahead in life, but it's hard to argue with an axe to the face.

Xeroma
"This is a joke, right?" asked the sarcastic Esper when presented his foe.

"A Chrono Cross character....... in the FINALS? What kind of foolishness IS THIS?". With that, Rune nuked poor Karsh with the feared Negatis spell and walked out a champion.

When presented his trophy, Rune sighed, and hoped for better competition in Heavy....

And Karsh > Rune. Cmon.
